I had the opportunity to do a mentored project at Ikiki co., a company specializing in toddler shoes, to design a snow boot specifically for children who wear foot braces such as AFOs (Ankle Foot Orthotics) and SMOs (Supra Malleolar Orthotics). These braces prevent children from pointing their toes, which can complicate the process of putting on shoes (especially tall shoes like snow boots), and the braces make it harder to find shoes that fit correctly.
